Q - What makes Dental Herb Company products unique?
A - Our products are formulated using Truly Natural® ingredients. We combine only pure essential oils (not their derivatives or synthetic equivalents) with alcohol-free extracts of organic botanicals. The precisely calculated proportions of oils and herbs work synergistically to establish an environment that relieves gum inflammation while helping to rebuild gum tissue and freshen breath.

Q - Are Dental Herb Company products chemical free?
A - Yes! Our products contain:

  • no alcohol
  • no synthetic chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS)
  • no artificial colors or synthetic dyes
  • no artificial sweeteners
  • no synthetic fluoride
  • no artificial preservatives such as parabens

Q - Does the Tooth and Gums Paste® contain sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS)?
A - No, we do not use SLS in Tooth and Gums Paste or any Dental Herb Company products. SLS is a synthetic foaming agent used in many commercial toothpastes that may damage gum tissue and cause mouth sores or allergic reactions in some individuals. For this reason, all Dental Herb Company products are SLS-free.

Q - Do the products have an expiration date?
A - Yes. Our products retain their full potency for 2 years from the date of manufacture. They may be used safely after the expiration date, but we cannot guarantee their efficacy beyond that date.

Q - Are the products safe to use during pregnancy or with a medical condition?
A - We advise all patients to consult with their healthcare professional if they are concerned about using the products while they are pregnant or being treated for a medical condition.

Q - Why does the taste sometimes vary slightly from bottle to bottle?
A - The flavors of harvested herbs may differ subtly due to natural variations in growing seasons and conditions. These nuances do not affect the efficacy or potency of the products, just the taste.

Q - What will happen if products sit out in the sun or if they freeze?
A - Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may diminish the effectiveness of our products. If allowed to freeze, bottles may be thawed. The efficacy of the products is not affected by freezing.

Q - Why are Tooth & Gums Tonic® and Under the Gums Irrigant® packaged in dark amber glass bottles?
A - The powerful essential oils and natural herbs in Dental Herb Company products need to be protected from light and oxygen. The dark glass bottle ensures the efficacy of the product by protecting the pure essential oils and natural herbs from sunlight. Dental Herb Company products should be stored in a cool, dark place, away from heat sources. Always keep caps screwed on tight.

Q - Can you dilute Under the Gums Irrigant to create Tooth & Gums Tonic?
A - No. Tooth & Gums Tonic is not a diluted version of Under the Gums Irrigant. Under the Gums Irrigant contains different proportions of herbs and oils than Tooth & Gums Tonic.

Q - Will Dental Herb Company products stain teeth?
A - No. Dental Herb Company products do not stain tooth enamel, but may cause temporary discoloration of a toothbrush. Discoloration of the toothbrush can be prevented by rinsing the toothbrush with warm water after brushing teeth with Tooth and Gums Paste.

Q - Why is Tooth and Gums Paste darker in color than commercial toothpastes?
A - Tooth and Gums Paste is darker in color than commercial toothpastes due to the natural herbs and essential oils it contains, such as green tea extract. We do not use any artificial colors or synthetic dyes in our products. However, despite the darker color, the paste will leave your teeth white and will not stain.

A - No, we never test any of our products on animals.
